Leadership
Elliott Lorenz
Chief Executive Officer
Elliott’s expertise in developing machine learning–driven credit engines and investing in credit markets spans more than a decade, culminating in the co-founding of Edge Focus in 2017. Previously he built and deployed algorithmic and high-frequency trading strategies, most recently at Tower Research Capital. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from Northwestern University, and a Master in Finance from Princeton University.
Frank Jones
President and Chief Architect
Frank oversees the architecture of the technology platform at Edge Focus, which he has developed since co-founding the firm in 2017. He is responsible for ensuring seamless connectivity, driving efficiency across the company, and managing both its financial and technical functions. Prior to Edge Focus, Frank co-founded Lettuce, an order and inventory management software company that was acquired by Intuit in 2014. He holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Kevin Hennessy
Chief Investment Officer
Kevin co-founded Edge Focus in 2017 and oversees the firm’s investment strategies and research. He has developed machine learning investment strategies in alternative credit since 2013, informed by extensive expertise in global fixed income markets and algorithmic trading. At Tower Research Capital, he was responsible for tens of billions of dollars of global exposure and the development of advanced risk management systems. He also founded and sold High-Q, a proprietary trading firm. Kevin holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from University of Notre Dame and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a Postdoc focus on quantum optics and nanophotonics.
Jeff Andrews
Chief Revenue Officer
Jeff oversees the firm’s revenue strategies, including capital raising & capital markets, platform, and asset manager partnerships. Prior to Edge Focus, he was Chief Growth Officer at ADF/Personify, a consumer lending firm, and Head of Partnerships at Pagaya Technologies (NASD: PGY). He also spent six years at LendingClub (NYSE: LC) as Head of Strategic Partnerships. Jeff is a native New Englander and graduate of Tufts University, and is a long-time transplant to Denver, CO.
Sean Mills
Chief Technology Officer
Sean leads the technology team, playing a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction, guiding major initiatives, and driving innovation across all technical and quantitative efforts. Before joining Edge Focus, he spent several years at Theorem Partners (acquired by Pagaya Technologies) building machine learning based underwriting models and managing assets in the consumer space. Earlier in his career, Sean was a full-time researcher at the California Institute of Technology, where he worked on numerical simulations of planets orbiting distant stars before transitioning into financial markets. He holds a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Chicago and a BS in Physics from Caltech.
