What You’ll Do
- Lead and mentor the engineering team, providing coaching, direction, code reviews, and technical guidance while building a high-performing, collaborative culture
- Partner with the leadership team to define the technical roadmap, prioritize work, and ensure strong execution across engineering, research, and leadership teams
- Oversee engineering workflows, architectural discussions, documentation, and delivery timelines to maintain clarity and velocity
- Support hiring and onboarding, helping to grow the engineering team and establish best practices as EF scales
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years of software engineering experience (Python preferred)
- 1–3+ years of team leadership, mentorship, or management experience (formal or informal)
- Experience building systems in data-heavy or high-performance environments
- Strong architectural thinking and a bias for simple, scalable solutions
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to balance hands-on contributions with people leadership
- Bonus: experience in fintech, quantitative research environments, or ML tooling
